Laura Thorne provides 1:1 coaching and on-demand career resources at The Environmental Career Coach.
In her own words:
Field-tested career advice from an environmental professional turned coach
As both a former environmental manager and a business consultant, I've sat on both sides of the hiring table. I understand what employers look for and how to help you stand out. Many of my clients:
- Don't know what to apply for
- Feel burned out from endless job searching
- Aren't getting interviews despite meeting job requirements
- Feel uncertain about their next career move
- Need help crafting compelling resumes
- Struggle with effective networking
- and many other issues
I never had a mentor or coach – I am not sure I was even aware I should seek one. That gap led to burnout and temporarily leaving the environmental field. My mission is to prevent that from happening to you.
Whether you're seeking roles in the private, public, or nonproft sectors, I can help you understand the landscape, prepare effectively, and make strategic career decisions that align with your values and goals using the proven ENVIROlocity™ 3 Keys Framework.
Andy Nelson: The Positive Career Coach

- Stuck in a career that no longer aligns with your values?
- Overwhelmed by the competitive landscape of sustainability roles?
- Feeling lost navigating the path to a purpose-driven career?
- Worried about the financial risks of changing careers?
I help talented professionals like you navigate the climate and sustainability landscape so you can dedicate your time and talent to making the world a better place and you a happier person.
With proven, action orientated methodologies that combine coaching AND mentoring -because sometimes life is too short for more leading questions- let’s build clarity, beat the overwhelm, and make sure you have fewer regrets about how you’ve spent your life.
